With a background in cultural anthropology, Samuel uses his lens to capture the essence of individuals, communities and subcultures. His interest in filmmaking first emerged during his service in Americorps, where his interactions with people from all walks of life instilled in him a great love for humans and storytelling. He is particularly interested in ethnographic filmmaking from a geographic perspective, and seeks to empathetically tell the stories of humans through the landscapes they inhabit, change, and leave behind.
